NEUER WAS CRUCIAL

Bayern Munich were one of the best teams in the world last season. They demonstrated this by winning three major trophies including the Champions League and the league title. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was a crucial link towards Bayern enjoying this success last season, but it did not come without hurt for the German international. This is because the 26-year-old experienced heartbreak with Bayern Munich not once but thrice just the season before. The club had finished the campaign as runners up in three major competitions.

They not only lost in the league race to Borussia Dortmund, but they also finished as the runners up in the Champions League after the lost to Chelsea in the acrimonious circumstances. Neuer has said that these defeats motivated the team into performing extremely well last season. After strengthening the team by bringing in the likes of Javi Martinez, Bayern Munich went on to dominate both German and European football last season. They are now regarded as the strongest team in Europe right now.

They are once again expected to win the Champions league this season after the arrival of former Barcelona manager Guardiola. The club has also strengthen the squad even more by bringing in Borussia Dortmund winger Mario Gotze for around £ 35 million.

“Now we know how great you feel every morning, starting every day with a smile. The titles drive us and are a great motivation for the new season,” said the 26-year-old goalkeeper, who was speaking on the occasion of the charity project organised by LitCam. “The idea came from Dirk. We have much in common despite their different sports. We are regarded as down to earth and connected to home and want to sponsor and support children who grow up in less fortunate circumstances,” said Neuer regarding the charity work.
