MIXED SEASON FOR ARSENAL

This season has been a bag of mixed results for Arsenal as they enjoyed being at the top of the Premier League for a considerable amount of time until a series of draws and defeats saw the team of Arsene Wenger dropping points and falling down a few spots in the English League.

However Arsenal have paved their way into the finals of the FA Cup which is something they haven’t been able to accomplish since 2005, which is the last time they reached so far and won the tournament. Arsene Wenger and his men are now trying to finish the Premier League campaign by securing the 4th spot which would allow them to play in the Champions League for the upcoming season.

Wenger revealed the importance that the Premier League is for him and his players as the French tactician wants his team to focus on the remaining matches of the league.

“If we win our games, we will finish in front of Everton, so for us it is important now to focus on the Premier League. If we do that well I am confident we will come back, and on top of that we have a target now for the end of the season: the FA Cup final’’. Wenger said.

“We have now a period where we can concentrate on the Premier League.”

Arsenal got into the finals of the FA Cup by defeating Wigan Athletic on a penalty shootout and the hero of the match turned out to be Lukasz Fabianski as he saved 2 shots which were fired and Wenger praised the work of Polish goalkeeper.

“Fabianski did very well. He is a good goalkeeper. He showed that again today. During the game, even with the penalty they scored, he went on the right side. He is quick. In the penalties he put us in a good position.” Wenger added on.

Wenger stated that his players don’t practice penalty set-pieces very often but they are going to focus on it, before their upcoming FA Cup finals against Hull City.
