CREW MAKE GREAT START

Columbus Crew made a great start to the season, but their form has slowly been slipping in the last few weeks. The team has not won in the last five matches and it has seen them slip to fourth position in the table. Still, they remain only two points from the top of the table.

Hence, Columbus Crew will be hoping to return to winning ways as soon as possible. They will have to do this without the services of midfielder Wil Trap for the upcoming match against Houston Dynamo. The midfielder is suspended for this encounter after receiving two yellow cards against Sporting Kansas City.

Columbus Crew lost the match 2-0, but this was their first defeat in the last four matches. The manager accepted to the germany portugal odds site that the loss of Wil Trap is a major blow, but he is confident that it will give other players the chance to show their potential team. Gregg Berhalter has been fielding Trap along with Tony Tchani for most of the season. Now, the latter will be receiving a new partner to marshal the midfield. Berhalter says that he has complete faith in the player who will be replacing Trap in the middle of the park.

Houston will overtake them in the table with a win, as they are just one point below them.

“We have this roster where guys want to be on the field and guys want to compete for spots. So this is a chance for someone to step up and compete. The benefit Wil has is that he’s been working in that position for the whole year so far, so he’s getting used to it and he’s been consistently there and he’s used to the nuances of the position. Another guy who may play there may not have the familiarity of the position,” Berhalter said.
